OKLAHOMA'S EDGE

What's New
EDGE Policy Board members have approved 21 pre-proposal applications from a field of 94, representing the first round in the funding process for the latest of Oklahoma’s economic development programs. This step is the first in what is expected to be an annual process from an endowment that backers hope someday to reach $1 billion. EDGE has approximately $13 million for its first round of funding. The 21 applicants are being asked to submit full proposals by mid-September. The approved proposals include projects in biotechnology, agriculture, aerospace, weather science and energy, with many projects overlapping into multiple categories. Read the complete news release. Welcome to Oklahoma's EDGE Web Site
Oklahoma’s EDGE (Economic Development Generating Excellence) was developed in late 2003 to provide a blueprint for our state’s future. Since then, more than 100 initiatives have been undertaken to implement the EDGE action plan. Clearly, EDGE continues to serve as an effective blueprint for Oklahoma's economic growth.

A cooperative spirit has been the hallmark of the EDGE process from the beginning. Gov. Brad Henry launched the initiative in cooperation with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Throughout the EDGE project, approximately 15,000 Oklahomans have participated in the process that has led to these recommendations.

Review the progress of EDGE in a report released in January 2006. Feel free to provide any additional advice or suggestions. You can contact us by clicking on the links on the left of the screen.
